At Cuisines Steam, design and manufacturing go hand in hand every day. Each kitchen is developed for a space, uses and architecture that are unique to it, then manufactured in our workshop in Montreal.
This close relationship between the design and the material allows us to follow every detail of the project, from its initial intentions to the final finishing stages.
From idea to substance
Before manufacturing come the proportions, the materials, the assemblies and the details.
Wood, veneers, colors and finishes are considered in relation to the entire project. These choices are not merely aesthetic: they contribute to how the kitchen integrates into its environment and stands the test of time.
Customization begins precisely here: in the possibility of adapting each decision to the project rather than adapting the project to an existing model.
Manufacture with precision
Once the plans are finalized, the project enters the manufacturing phase.
Dimensions, cuts and assemblies: each component is produced specifically for the kitchen for which it is intended.
The workshop equipment allows for the necessary precision to be achieved, while the eye and hand accompany each step.
The hand remains indispensable
Sand a surface. Adjust an assembly. Check alignment. Prepare a panel before finishing.
The woodworking process continues even in the choice of finish, where staining helps to preserve and reveal the natural grain of the material .
Behind the technical precision, there is a succession of actions that require experience and judgment.
Many members of our team have worked together for many years. This continuity allows us to preserve and pass on a knowledge of the profession that can be found in the details, sometimes almost imperceptible, of a completed project.

Surface preparation, sanding, application and control follow one another until the desired result is obtained.
This in-house expertise allows us to adapt lacquer and its various finishing options to the materials and intent of the project, while maintaining continuity between design and execution.

Manufacturing does not end when the last part is produced.
Surfaces, dimensions, assemblies and finishes are checked before the elements leave the workshop.
It is a discreet but essential step: the one where sight and touch take over one last time.
