THE PRACTICAL GUIDE TO MAINTAINING YOUR KITCHEN

The kitchen is a central place in the home that deserves regular maintenance to stay clean, functional and inviting.

This guide offers you simple tips to keep your kitchen in good condition, extend the life of your kitchen and ensure a healthy environment.

Follow these practical steps for effective daily maintenance.


STEP 1:

Veneer Care:

  • Light stains: Clean the surface with a soft, damp cloth, then wipe immediately to dry.

  • Stubborn stains: Use a mixture of warm water and mild soap. Rub gently, then dry immediately with a clean, dry cloth.

Precautions:

  • Do not use products that contain silicone, ammonia, or wax.

  • Avoid leaving damp dishcloths to dry on veneer doors.

 

STEP 2:

Laminate care:

  • Light stains: Clean the surface with a soft, damp cloth, then rub to dry.

  • Stubborn stains: Use a soft nylon brush and a mixture of warm water and mild soap. Dry immediately with a clean, dry cloth.

  • Hard water: If your water leaves streaks, add a little white vinegar to the cleaning water to revive the shine of the laminate.

  • Specific stains (felt, glue, etc.): Apply a little diluted alcohol to remove the stain, then clean again with mild soap.

STEP: 3

Care of the lacquer:

  • Routine cleaning: Clean the lacquered surface with a soft, damp cloth. For greasy stains, add a little mild soap in warm water. Dry immediately with a clean, dry cloth.

  • ⚠️ Avoid: Never use abrasive detergents, ammonia or alcohol-based products.

  • Small snags: Apply the touch-up product provided by Cuisines Steam, following the instructions.

  • Deep scratches: Contact us for a rework of the lacquer on the door or drawer. We will be able to take the door back and re-lacquer it with the original color.

STEP: 4

Solid wood maintenance:

  • Wooden cutting boards:

  • Avoid: Never put the boards in the dishwasher or let them soak in water.

  • Cleaning: Wash both sides with a soft brush and dishwashing liquid, then rinse with warm water. Let air dry in an upright position.

  • Ecological disinfection: Rub the surface with half a lemon and coarse salt, then rinse with warm water.

  • Maintenance: Oil both sides after a few uses with a specific edible oil, available in our shop.

  • Solid wood lunch counter:

  • Use linseed oil for maintenance. This treatment should be applied after light sanding and only if the countertop is damaged.

STEP: 5

Stainless Steel Maintenance:

  • Cleaning: Wash stainless steel surfaces with soapy water to remove stains and grease marks. Then wipe with a soft, dry cloth.

  • Finishing: Spray a specific product for stainless steel on the clean surface, then rub gently in the direction of the polish with a soft, dry cloth.

  • ⚠️ Avoid: Never use metal sponges or abrasive detergents that could scratch your surfaces.

 

STEP: 6

Countertop Maintenance:

  • Heat: Whether it's natural stone or quartz, it's essential to protect your countertop from heat. To prevent thermal shock or burns of the resin in the quartz, always make sure to use a trivet or suitable support before laying a hot dish.

  • Cleaning: Due to their intensive use, countertops require careful maintenance. Strictly avoid products containing oils, abrasive powders, as well as degreasers, solvents or bleaching agents. Ideally, soapy water with a neutral pH soap is perfectly suited to all surfaces.
