MANAGE OUR WASTE IN STYLE!

Although choosing a trash can is not the most exciting step when renovating a kitchen, we are convinced that a good waste management system can revolutionize your daily life. To help you find the solution that fits your lifestyle, we offer you a guide to the 5 essential steps used by our designers, enriched with the advice of Marie-Sophie, our expert in organization and recycling.

STEP 1: DEFINE NEEDS

To define your waste management needs, your designer will ask you a few key questions: do you separate your food waste? Do you use compost in your garden? How often do you go to the bin? Do you have children or pets? Do you buy in bulk? What are the local regulations? These factors, along with the size of your kitchen and your preferences, will guide the choice of your waste management system, including the size of the bins.

STEP 2: KITCHEN DIMENSIONS

When space allows, we favor the creation of a "waste center" with 4 sections: a garbage can, a compost bin, a recycling bin and a small bin for bags and accessories. This system is both organized and flexible, making it easy to adapt the size of the bins to your needs. For example, you might need a smaller trash can if you're just starting to compost, or a larger compost bin during harvest season. The containers are available in different capacities (17, 26 or 32 litres) for more flexibility.

STEP 3: MANUAL OR ELECTRIC OPENING

The drawer in the waste centre can be opened manually using a sliding system, but you can also choose hands-free technology, such as SERVO-DRIVE. This option allows the drawer to be opened with a simple push of your knee or foot, providing a convenient solution when your hands are dirty or busy.

STEP 4: EXTRA STORAGE

If the layout of the kitchen allows it, an additional drawer can be added above the waste bins to store garbage, compostable, recycling bags, as well as table linens, sponges and other household accessories. Our customers with pets particularly appreciate this space for storing dog treats or poop bags!

STEP 5: ODOUR CONTROL

To prevent bad odours, all our waste bins are equipped with a lid with a coconut odour filter, as well as two handles for easy transport and emptying. Coco filters are not only easy to replace, but can also be composted when they reach the end of their life. These small details make all the difference, in our opinion!

TIPS & TRICKS

Finally, here are some tips and tricks from our team:

  • Place the garbage center near the sink, on the side closest to the preparation area.

  • Freeze your compost bags and then put them on the street according to the collection day dictated by your sector.

  • Prefer to buy in bulk to limit recycling.

  • Opt for the automatic opening of your waste center, an investment that is worth it!

  • Wash your plastic bins regularly with a small amount of baking soda to remove odors.
